Brain Cancer is a common disease today. About 200 thousand people
will be diagnosed with it every year. Cancer is growths of abnormal cells in
tissues of the brain and in the spinal cord. “Most common in ages 60 and up
says Dr. Clinton Baird (Tulsa)”. Only about 30% of people will be able to
survive brain cancer. This is why cancer is a disastrous thing to have.
Glioblastoma is the most common kind of Brain Cancer. It’s
highly cancerous because of the cells that reproduce quickly. Glioblastoma
arise from astrocytes. Astrocytes are star shaped cells that make up the
supportive or glue like tissue of the brain. It’s a very hard cancer to treat
because there so many different types of cells in the tumor. It’s the most
dangerous Brain cancer to have.
There are many ways to know if you have brain cancer. There
are thousands of signs and symptoms. One of the signs is Aphasia, Aphasia is a
language disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate. Another sign
is having a stroke, a stroke is a loss of blood flow to a part of the brain.
Other symptoms include nausea and headaches. Those are just a few of the thousands
of signs and symptoms of brain cancer.
Chemo is a drug used to kill the cancer but it often kills
its patients too. Chemo is medical poison that targets cancer cells. Chemo
makes you very sick and it’s hard to eat and drink food and water. 50% of
people that take chemo die from starvation and dehydration. 10% of people die
within the first 10 days of taking chemo. Chemo is very dangerous.
Could the Zika virus be the cure? Zika causes babies to have
brain damage but we might be able to develop the virus to fight brain cancer.
Zika was tested on mice with cancer and they survived way longer than the ones
without it. The virus is safe for anyone that’s not pregnant. Is the Zika virus
safer then chemo?
